Overview: Integrated Online and Offline Marketing Campign

Client: Dixon Hughes PLLC

Project:
Design and Marketing to create buzz / increase attendance / to second annual Dixon Hughes conference for physicians in Southeast United States. The conference goal was to create introductions of Dixon Hughes professionals and Physicians with their own practices.  Content of the conference was based on a series of  seminars and lectures containing advice on increasing efficiencies  and profits of their practices.

Marketing materials focused on increasing awareness of the conference and instilling an air of a “must attend” event in the South East.

The Challenge:
The first conference in 2007 enticed attendees by providing lodging at a luxury resort gratis as a benefit of attending.  The second annual conference in 2008 – attendes were required to pay for their own lodging.

2007 attendance was approx 50 Physicians and their staff, Dixon Hughes set a goal of increased attendance by 20% (ten attendees) for 2008. There were scant other details to work with, as the 2007 conference was not tracked well. So we started from scratch to meet their goals.

We reviewed the materials from the 2007 conference and realized right away that improvement was needed. Although branded and professional, the materials lacked impact, copy was dry and uninviting, and no mention was made at all about the free lodging they offered or the swank resort it was held in. They certainly didn’t take advantage of any teasers that could have enticed their audience.

After the discovery was complete, our next step was brainstorming themes for the conference. We wanted to tie in a preventative healthcare theme with the theme of financial success with proper planning, and partnering with the Dixon Hughes firm to get there. We needed to entice with the main focus on the benefits to the attendees – increasing their profits and efficiencies, and a secondary focus on  the experience of the conference – the relaxation, and luxury of the high-end resort and recreational opportunities provided.

Solution:
Theme Created / Marketing Plan established.

We planned a 3 tier mailing campaign coupled with an online informational and registration page on the Dixon Hughes website.

To supplement the mailings, direct phone calls to the prospects were made – to remind them to register – as the conference loomed near.

Related theme branded conference materials including an Agenda document, Presenter Bios, Session Summaries, and one-sheets on the complimentary outings were created. Related Client give packages were sourced and assembled to continue he theme and help to create a conference a memorable conference worthy of returning the following year.

Results:
The turnout was outstanding. The final count of attendees was over 80. This was an increase of over 65% , blowing away the clients expectations and initial goals. The attendees were highly impressed not only by the conference itself, but also with the materials provided and the professional and well thought out marketing and reminders. The client gifts also were very well received, with attendees requesting multiples weeks after the conference.

Client Testimonial:

I have worked with Wendy on several projects this year and she consistently exceeds our expectations.

Not only is the quality of her design top-notch, but the creative thought and attention to detail is outstanding. She has also been very receptive to last minute requests and met every deadline we’ve thrown at her. The combination of these attributes is rare in this business.

Much of our marketing success can be contributed to the work she has provided for us.
